Pack 918 greatly appreciates your interest in Cub Scouts. By joining Cub Scouts, you are beginning an exciting adventure! Scouting is a wonderful opportunity for the young man in your home to:

  • develop strong character qualities
  • learn about his duty to God and his country
  • help other people
  • explore the world around him
  • learn the Law of the Pack

Pack 918 has been chartered through the Boy Scouts of America. We meet September through May at Ninth and O Baptist Church at 4401 Breckenridge Lane in Louisville, Kentucky (click here for a map). Our pack is open to all boys first through fifth grades. Our chartered name is “Louisville Christian Homeschoolers” though our membership includes families from the surrounding counties and southern Indiana as well as the Louisville Metro Area.

Cub Scout packs are constituted of dens with about four to eight boys and one or two adult leaders. Each den includes boys that are the same grade-level or age.

1st Graders are called Tiger Cubs.
2nd Graders are called Wolf Cubs.
3rd Graders are called Bear Cubs.
4th Graders are called Webelos I.
5th Graders are called Webelos II.

Tigers, Wolves, and Bears must join with an adult partner. The adult partner attends with their son to participate in den and pack activities. Webelos may attend den meetings without their adult partner. At the monthly pack meeting, however, all family members (including siblings) are welcome and invited to attend with the cubs.

The den meetings are from 6:45 - 8:00 p.m. Den meetings are fun! They usually involve a productive activity designed to further the scout’s knowledge, abilities, and achievement levels, and always include time to relate with other scouts as well as the den leader. The scouts are expected to wear their uniforms to the den meetings.

The monthly pack meetings are just a bit longer and are from 6:45 - 8:30 p.m. Pack meetings include games, entertainment, and most importantly, scout recognition and awards for the achievements earned by scouts over the course of the last month. Scouts are expected to wear their uniforms to the pack meetings.

Pack outings are not mandatory but they are almost always helpful in helping the scouts fulfill achievement levels. Pack outings may include camping, fishing, ball games, and a host of other activities.

Uniforms include a shirt, neckerchief, slide, appropriate pants, belt, socks, closed-toe shoes, and scout’s handbook. Hats are optional. Adult leaders wear a uniform shirt. This encourages pride in Scouting and it helps others to recognize our group at public outings.

Dues are due to the treasurer at the time of registration.
